Such a sad story.

Every time I read one of your posts, I find myself thinking places like 66 Reginald Street should have a little blue plaque for people like Sammy Wightman, though if we did that, half the town would be covered in them!

Also interesting how often Bute Street station pops up in these older stories, almost like it was the station of choice in town and now it’s completely gone. An old relative of mine once told me when his mother first came to Luton she went to get off at Luton Hoo station, thinking that was the main railway station before the town, before being told she had to wait for the next stop! Shows how much things change.
