I agree with nearly all of the above but let's not forget football was heading towards dire turgid crap - with some exceptions - well before the Sky days.

It's easy to get doey-eyed about the past (in all areas) but it certainly wasn't all great. Off the pitch,too, where it is now so sterile and souless - wasn't great fun constantly having to watch your back especially at away games: and anyone who claims it was just 'lads v lads' obviously didn't live through it.

Not defending modern football- which absolutely is shit - but let's be realistic too.

Next week sees the Fair Game conference. Limited in scope maybe, but some people are actually doing things to try and save/resuscitate the game and football pyramid. There will be a strong LTFC presence there.
