I think it comes down to price. After his second half of the season I'd be surprised if a couple of million haven't come off the asking price, if not more.
But if a Championship club fancy taking a punt on him then I guess we have to offer considerably higher wages to tempt him, as well as matching or improving on any transfer fee offered.
MB must like him, and he knows him better than most.
