I pretty much agree with that, and as I've said before I think a lot of our problem is the rate of success. It got to the point where we just couldn't step up a gear, and certainly nothing about the Premier League season was actually unexpected or that bad considering everything. I know a lot believe that we should have spent more money, and I don't know anyone who wouldn't have loved to see a quality player or two come in during that January window but it really is more often than not just throwing good money after bad.

To try and build the infrastructure required to compete at the Premier League level is a huge challenge, it's so much more than just the squad and the stadium.

What happened this summer? I just can't explain it, though if Walsh had played like we now know he can rather than a numpty early on it might have helped some.

It's obvious that a hell of a lot has gone wrong, including it seems, personal problems of some kind for a number of the staff. Questions do need to be asked but we also need to keep the great man's words in mind "Never too high, never too low" - and in this instance be wary of going mad over making changes when certainly for this and / or League One level we have been successful in the past.
