Generally fair, but I doubt there are ‘dozens’ of clubs to be relegated from the premier league to league 1 in successive seasons.

Alex Neill has Millwall in the verge of the playoffs. Rowett has got some great results with Oxford. I agree that both of them are in some ways ‘retreads’ and part of the ‘manager carousel’ but if we were serious about staying in the championship we should’ve employed someone with more experience in my view. Even if that was a 2.5 year contract, a couple of years stability in the championship while we sort ourselves out, even if we didn’t progress as a club would not be the worst thing. And is likely to better than where we actually are in 2 years.

The Bloomfield appointment, like the squad investment, was arrogance / complacency - a “we’ll be fine” attitude. Was very similar to appointing NJ first time, the only difference being that we were never going down from league 2 that season, despite what Jones might say. We could take a gamble on the long term then.
