For me the problem goes back to losing Locks.
We lost our leader and our best defender in one hit, and he was never replaced.
We then lost our midfield when Barkley and Lokonga departed, and they were not replaced, adequately.
Then we persevered with a manger who had lost his way for far too long, he should have gone in November or early December at the latest, so when the new manager did come in he did not have enough time to assess the squad and then have a full transfer window to sort some of the issues out.
You have to point an accusing finger at those in charge of the club and also recruitment I’m afraid.
GS, the board,MH and team, have all been miracle workers over the years but, have all been caught with their pants down this time around.
I hope they learn from this, we cannot keep trying to “do it on the cheap” or “buy for the future” you have to live in the now.
