For: young and experienced and will grow a d will cost a lot to pay off.
Against: looks like the stress is taking its emotional toll on him. Hasn't shown much evidence of turning our disastrous start to the season.
2/. Internal candidate.
For: cheap, know the club already and other teams have had a reasonable about of success. Could be good in terms of longer term bringing youngsters through
Against: probably no or little management experience at Championship level. May not be very familiar with other teams and squadd or potential transfer targets.
3/. Mark Robbins: young and upcoming manager with experience and built a squad on a shoestring that almost got to the PL and FA Cup final with comlicated and unstable background off the pitch.
Against: relatively inexperienced and having a slow start with Coventry this season having had funds to spend. Hasn't shown much evidence of being able to turn it round - similar to RE in that respect therefore is it worth the gamble?
4/. A Neil Warnock / Sam Allerdyce type figure.
For: vastly experienced with success not only in keeping teams up but also promotions. Would command instant respect and keep out club in the limelight.
Against: would probably be very expensive. They may not wish to take on the challenge. The game has moved on leaps and bounds and might not be up to speed with all the latest info on XGs, and player data.
5/. Pep Gaurdiola / Jürgen Klopp type figure.
For: continued high profile for the club and would bring lots of media coverage (could also be a negative). Would probably bring success on the pitch and commercially.
Against: would be ridiculously expensive, we may not appreciate such close media attention, no guarantee of success for high outlay and therefore could look like a laughing stock.
6/. A young inexperienced manager from abroad or lower leagues:
For: enthusiastic and keen to do well on a career ladder. Relatively cheap option. As long as they're not a disaster would be a relatively low risk option.
Against: lack of experience of anywhere near where we want to be. Players may not respond to a "who are ya".
7/. Nathan Jones.
For: knows the club and fans. Could probably negotiate a cheap deal. Has the energy and drive to do well and has an excellent track record with us.
Against: will jump ship at the first opportunity. No stability. Lots of fake chest pumping. Treated us badly in the past. Hasn't really worked out for him anywhere else.
