- What do you dislike about the way we play now?
1. We usually have 2 or 3 shots on our goal in the first few minutes where we are lucky none of them go in.
2. Whenever we are on top we rarely look like actually scoring.
3. Then we usually concede a soft goal against the run of play. Quite often due to a lack of concentration in defence.
4. Under sustained pressure we look very ropey defensively. As if we are going to concede under every attack.
5. The way certain players spend more time trying to win dubious free kicks than just playing and winning duels by being the better player. I'm thinking specifically of Morris and Chong here. I like both of them but wish they would remove this part of their game plan, it's usually so obvious as well. Makes me cringe.
6. Adebayo's inability to head the ball consistently well. He might get 1 in 10 that is decent. Who is coaching him on this aspect of his game?
7. Adebayo's inability to stay onside. Again who is coaching him on this aspect of his game?
8. Lack of fight. The previous 2 seasons we were lauded for our never say die attitude. Where has this gone? Heads drop too readily now.
9. Lack of staying power. Under NJ we pressed relentlessly and it paid off. We don't seem to have the stamina to do this anymore. Why not?
There's probably more things I have missed but overall I no longer feel as though we have enough conviction in the way we play. Something in our culture has changed for the worse over the last 12 months.
