But…. 2020 are fans. They were personally and directly* instrumental in sorting out the chaos before the chaos. That’s because of a bond us fans have with our club. It’s not common. Out of the population of Wrexham and their fan base - they should be able to rustle up some super talented business people. But they didn’t come forward, because the crisis wasn’t big enough, the bond wasn’t tight enough, or, as I think, both. We’re different to Wrexham, and we should be proud and not forget that.

In terms of being a plaything, yes, Ryan Reynolds is better than sports washing human rights abusers, corporate leveragers and dodgy Russian gangsters looking to hide in plain sight. But it also seems fairly clear to me (cynic, maybe) that’s he’s in it for the tv programme and the profile - and the rest is an act.

The 5 years in the non league is an important part of the “saviour of the feckless” narrative.

As for Birmingham. Absolutely nutless. (I live within 20 miles of St Andrews and have friend who are supporters). Their old owners were robbing them blind and letting the ground literally rot away. And they kept giving their money but twice threw tennis balls onto the pitch. Woooooo. Absolute luck the amicans came along, but their soul is sold. It’s gone.
