Tend to agree, Although people had less back in the 70s there was still some civic pride.
I am not against capitalism just the extremes we have now.
I am not one who thinks things are worse. Generally, I think most people's lives are far better than in the 70,s.

Technology has made things less Labour intensive, people as a whole are more tolerant although people think the contrary we live in peaceful times, we were very fearful of nuclear attacks back then with the cold war in full swing. There was more conflict in the world back then.

In the early 70,s many didn't have central heating let alone winter fuel payments.

In general people had less but were more content, expectations are much higher now

The levels of corporate greed now could never have be contemplated back then.
