Actually you have illustrated an issue quite well here. the "oh but". Both parties guilty. And a default first defence.

Fore example
-"no money left" in 2010 note
- "22 billion black hole" 2024

Both by parties willing to govern. Both knew what they were getting into. Both somewhat generous with manifesto pledges.

Then it comes to point scoring on past posts. Given we are a long way off the next election, the main thing now is the CURRENT actions. Which are currently starmer proving he isnt the centrist person he claimed, and not giving a fuck about pissing off the electorate as he has a huge majority (with 20 of the electorate) as by the time the next one comes around the tories wil stil be in disarray and he can hope its forgotten about. Welcome to British politics. On the plus side we arent america. And we tend to pick what we think is the least worse option at the time not hero worship the optgions we have. few exceptions. mainly under multi names in carlsisle
