Not an admin choice, as every message board on the members.boardhost.com domain was offline.

The powers that be really should look into finding a new message board provider (that can be registration free), as at this point Boardhost is on life support and just happy to take your money for hosting. The code behind it is not maintained and is literally about 20 years old. How any of this still functions is beyond me.
