A back 3 and 2 up front worked very well for us when we were promoted. The problems we have right now are:

Lack of experience at centre back
Lack of an organiser at centre back
Lack of a defensive midfielder

If the back 7 is

Kaminski
Walters
Burke / new experienced CB
Mengi
Bell
Doughty
Nakamba / new DM

Then the formation would not be the issue. Though I still wouldn’t go as gung ho as we have been doing.
