There isn't a top team anywhere playing three at the back. And as for the man for man nonsense, that either.
Their first goal is a direct result of both those nonsenses. You cannot have one of your three (Walters) rushing up and engaging their left back. He has to stay zonally and alongside Mendi. He does that they can't score that goal.
But he did, and a 30 yard hole opened up that their midfielder ran into. He was already ahead of Nelson who had no chance to get back. But who also probably not expecting our defence to part like the Red Sea and give them the freedom of the park.
