Although, re: throw ins, I found out recently that if the ball isn't in their half of the pitch, the lino doesn't decide, it's the ref.
But the whole offside rule/argument has destroyed the game and made them pointless. How is a lino (or a player for that matter) meant to know if a toe is offside? Anyone who has played at any level knows it's impossible, and there's not an iota of advantage.
Saturday first half Brentford broke, and Lewis Potter was clearly offside, but the lino didn't flag (because of the new rules, I guess). The resulting play went out for a corner. Now if they'd scored from a corner, I'm guessing because it's a new phase it would've been fine?
The whole game is ruined.
