Yes the second half was tactically naive, indeed shocking, but we have all seen many times how momentum can swing in football, and indeed Semenyo has roasted us before when at Bristol City.
And we lost, away from home, by one goal. One.
The first half was a brilliant performance, with three excellent goals. Chong, Doughty, Kaborι, Barkley, Mengi, all excellent.
I would suggest that if, in May/June, we had known that we would have players such as Barkley, Lokonga, Mengi, Kaminski gracing our team, and that we would, at this stage of the season, have scored 41 goals, making us top scorers in the bottom half of the table and more than Man United, we would have gladly accepted it.
We are three points off safety even ignoring likely points deductions against Forest and Everton, we have Lokonga and Adebayo to return soon, perhaps even Saturday, and an international break to recharge the batteries.
There is all to play for, and as fans we are an important part of making the most of the opportunity. The team needs us to stay behind them in the run-in. Maybe as few as four wins would be enough.
Yet instead we see the usual suspects coming out of the woodwork, saying we are down already, Edwards must go, Hashioka is a liability, Alfie isnt trying any more, the Board dont know what they are doing, etc.
Frankly its pathetic, and tbh maybe they should all just f*ck off now. That way the real fans can get behind the club and team without being distracted by their bile.
