Have to give mentions to Barkley, Sambi Lokonga, Doughty, Mengi and Osho though.
Not much more to say about Barkley that hasn't been said but he was quality again. Thought that shot was in.
Sambi Lokonga I think gives Barkley a platform, he's more comfortable on the ball than Nakamba, and him and Barkleys composure really helped us get a grip on midfield.
mengi and Osho were solid, athletic and aggressive. Mengi even had a mazy run second half.
Doughty Imo is our second best and second most important player. Absolute quality every game on both sides .
I felt Newcastle lacked that final bit of quality that Arsenal and Liverpool have. I'm sure in a couple of windows they'll have it.
Burn is fucking massive but didn't like the press.
Botman is bigger than I thought as well.
Pelly showed good composure when he came on and once Morris got up to speed he was a menace with holding the ball in the corner
All in all, what a result. Imagine where we'd be if we'd held on against Arsenal and Liverpool and not capitulated against Burnley. Hopefully we've figured it all out now and we can have our traditional great second half of the season.
COYH and merry Christmas Outlaws
