Am I saying either was innocent? No.
Am I saying they should be let off the hook? No.
Am I saying we should just brush it under the carpet? No.
Am I saying those crimes weren't utterly appalling? No.
Am I saying that justice shouldn't be served? No. Although the debate there is what exactly constitutes justice.
And as for being in a minority, apart from polling day when did that ever matter (apart from polling day)? A majority isn't always right. In fact they seldom are.
And ok, my last sentence wasn't worded very carefully. But what I mean by that is that it's easy to get caught up in the hysteria and emotion of a situation rather than trying to take a step aside and try and give a more measured response.
