We spent £5m on a full back who we didn’t need and now don’t play.
We rejected a perfectly good goalkeeper and wasted £3m on another.
The money spent on these two alone should have been spent on Hamer or an equivalent who is clearly PL quality and creates and scores goals.
We allowed a striker who has pace and movement to leave on loan when we are clearly missing that up front without him.
While his actual comments are very wrong and misses the real point of who we are I don’t think the manager can hide behind them every week. I don’t think RE and the recruitment team have done as well as they needed to this time round.
Makes you wonder if the loss of Jones and the chap who went to Swansea was more important in terms of recruitment than anyone cared to acknowledge.
As many have said over the weekend. Are we really any better now than the XI’s that started against Watford and Sunderland at home?
