Well, there were over 30,000 people at the play-off final in 2012 so plenty must have gave a fukk in the conference years. And, looking at a lot of the crowd, a fair % of the 37,000 were probably a bit too young to worry about or properly understand the conference years, which is encouraging

Dunno why people feel the need to jump on our support when we have a reasonably-sized fanbase that will only grow with the new ground.

5,000 were going to watch Brighton at one point. Hull - less than that when they were really struggling in Div 4.

Cov would have also had some glory hunters in their section too. I know they've had ownership issues but they were often getting 11 or 12,000 at home games (at the Ricoh or whatever it's called) until they got to the C'ship

Even with the glory hunters, if they have kids, it's those kids that will become the future, growing hardcore support

I've used this analogy before but some of our fans are like those people who have followed bands from when they started and then, weirdly, get resentful when those bands become popular and successful.
