"Potts at home to Coventry comes to mind…."

Whilst I agree that Potts will not be in the first three centre back positions when all are fit and available, to single him out in the Coventry league game is more than a bit harsh.

NJ, for reasons only known to him, dropped Lockyer for that match and selected a returning Bradley ahead of Lockyer. Unfortunately, Sonny had one of those 'getting back up to speed' games where he didn't react quickly enough and/or make the right decisions so many times early in the game. So much so that Potts was having to cover both his own patch and the space that was being exploited around and behind Bradley ... gradually being drawn more into the centre of the pitch to safeguard Sonny.

When you've got a forward line with Gyokeres and Godden who know how to create space for each other, Potts was made to look poor. If you need to point the finger at anyone for that evening's result and defensive frailties then look no further than NJ.

Despite NJ's brain wobble when selecting the team, if the referee had done his job properly at the end of the game then we would still have gained a win!
