most pilots do not earn £100k, most pilots pay for their own training to obtain a Commercial pilot's license, and they borrow up to £120k to enable this training. It takes between 18 months - 2 years to train to become a pilot. This training takes place In Oxford, Spain, USA. very few Airlines now employ cadet pilots. Once you have obtained the CPL you then have to get a job as an FO.
