    who were Promoted.
    We moved our home to Luton
    circa nineteen-fifty-five
    with mum giving approval
    on the removal wagon drive:
    here was something for the crowds
    craving the cream of all the cream -
    all mum knew about the town
    was their First Division football team.
    She was a nineteen-sixties Hatters' fan
    when Brian Lewis came
    to Luton Town, from Coventry
    and in the Play-off game
    they played at Wembley, against Coventry
    you would have heard her scream
    for the revival of the dream,
    the arrival of that
    top that
    top hat
    top flight
    football team.
