Good grief.

"The Kippax was a cauldron of hate against them"

This was a few years before the plastic pitch or the away fan ban. Before then we had been in the same division once in 23 years.

What was the reason for their bitterness towards us? Perhaps winning the league, fa cup and European trophies in the late 60's /70's didn't quite make up for losing the FA cup tie at Kenilworth Road in 1961 when Denis Law scored six goals only for the game to be abandoned?
