Of all of the teams we've played against over the last few seasons, which players have impressed who may, realistically, be affordable if we were to try to bring them in on permanent deals?

Brandon Thomas-Asante (WBA)
Jed Wallace (both at Millwall and WBA)
Lewis O'Brien (when at Huddersfield, now Forest but on loan to DC United in MLS)

Clearly, this is a 'kid in a sweetshop' style list that we could never have considered before 8pm last Saturday. Plus, even if they were affordable, they would need to meet the 'do they fit Luton's squad ethos?' criteria.

Personally, I believe we need one or two 'big' CBs as the physique, speed, quality and different types of PL forwards will demand more than Lockyer, Osho, Burke and Potts (if they're still here) can offer even playing at 100% ability and being 100% organised. However, I cannot think of any particular stand-out CBs over our Championship tenure. Guess we could always rescue Cameron Carter-Vickers from Scotland.

As for Championship level goalkeepers, one who stood out for me was Brice Samba (Forest) but he's one season into a long term contract with Lens and strikes me as being as mad as they come, which is probably why I noticed him!

Although we didn't face him, it was interesting that Hull managed to acquire Carl Darlow on loan from Newcastle for the last half of this season - very decent GK but not one for the future if we are trying to value add.
