Anyway, I came across this factoid earlier and I thought you might like it.
Since the beginning of the 2010/11 season, Scúnthorpe have dropped 5 divisions whilst Luton have risen 5 - a swing of 10 divisions in Luton’s favour.
What’s more incredible though is that during that time, Luton have only been in a league above Scúnthorpe for 4 seasons out of a total of 13, during several of which Scúnthorpe were grossly overspending to little avail.
As a result, Scúnthorpe have in fact spent more in wages in reaching the National League North (from the Championship) than Luton have in reaching the Premier League (from the National League).
I realise that this primarily shines a light on just what a clusterfúck Scúnthorpe United have become, but it cannot do that without highlighting the brilliant work of Gary Sweet and co. at Kennilworth Road. Quite astounding on all fronts.
I hope we can follow you even half way down the path you’ve been on.
