    Common practice at my doctors practice (sorry)
    My Mother in Law was prescribed antibiotics 3 times without seeing her doctor. We got involved,couple of hospital visits later problem resolved.
    I'm going through something similar but luckily saw a doctor who was concerned and am now having tests at the hospital.
    Although clinical staff have their position if you are concerned see a GP and they might refer you.
