Yes, there were odd flat games back in the day. Exactly what I said.
There were some cracking atmospheres too. But it wasn't always like that. Anywhere. Watching repeats of The Big Match from 1979 the other day and there wasn't much noise. Although the main game was at Highbury
Just think the nature of nostalgia, the passage of time and being younger (I was a kid/teenager back then) positively colours the memory
