Three reasons why clubs do undisclosed.

1. To avoid other clubs using the wealth argument against us when/if they want to deal with us. And, no, not everything is known in football, as you will try and argue. Rumour is far from the truth - just look at how inaccurate transfermarkt is.

2. To avoid placing undue pressure in the player, not just for him, but fans will use a heavy price tag against the player if he doesn't perform.

3. Deals aren't simple enough. Most transfers attach huge proportions if the overall transaction on performance related bonuses / add-ons and will trade sell-ons too. I heard the JJ deal to Leicester contained over 60 conditional clauses which would have diluted the initial fee. So the £xxm headline can never be an applies for apples comparison.

And maybe a 4th, because of this complexity, Luton would never want that made public either because they wouldn't want other clubs to know how they negotiate.

On that basis, what value any supporter could possibly get from being nosy is diminished so much that it's just worthless.
