Agree that some of the comments on here about our transfer business were completely ridiculous , however I don’t think the club/RE managed the window well from a press perspective last night.

Losing Cornick to Bristol City on a cut price deal, after Naismith, was always going to be a big deal for our fan base - regardless of whether Cornick had been playing well or regularly for the side.

Replying to questions about Cornick in last night’s press conference with how we were still doing business and we’d come out of the window stronger set up whoever came in next for a fall.

Unfortunately it was a really young lad from Peterborough U21s and the return of the Admiral. I feel really sorry for Taylor.

It might have been better to have talked up the players we had already brought in, Mavellous, Drameh and Walton (all of whom I think are potentially upgrades ) and said we were already stronger but might have a little more business to do, rather than giving the impression another proven player was about to come in before the window shut.

It’s a shame as I think, aside from the Graeme Jones era, we tend to be excellent on this front. Having a game last night won’t have helped with coordination and messaging though.

Of course… there could still be a free agent coming in….
