No idea who he is, so had to look him up on Wiki - but looks like he is still young for a keeper (24), has played a few matches in the Championship before, is a good character (according to a quote from his manager) and is out of contract at the end of the season so is likely to be cheap. Given that we probably have other areas which are a greater priority to strengthen, it makes sense not to blow a large proportion of our budget on a backup keeper.
