Always hard to say which pub is good or not. If you only go once (eg holiday/away match) and you have good company, then it becomes a good pub. But, if you go regularly and from second night onwards you find there are regulars who are irritating, then that same pub becomes a different place.
Same with food. Good night, then a few poorer nights. Or landlord on good form on first visit, followed by maybe stress getting to him on another night.
Does that make sense, or am I having a Sunday morning waffle? 🤣
