I was sat eating what I thought was not particularly high quality beef when my Uncle-in-law showed me a picture of the wild boar that it actually was.

Similar stories involving chicken/rabbit. A deer, hit by a neighbour's car, draining out in the garage, stinking out the whole downstairs. They don't have a phrase for 'that part of the animal, we just throw away'. And the Aussies take the piss out of us for eating rubbish.

But, if you're going to kill an animal, may as well eat as much as possible rather than waste most of it.
