Over the decades there's always been some merit to the arguments for a registration style forum and it's clear that there is an audience for this, but NOT if it means sacrificing Outlaws.
We're all fans of the same football club but just like those in J Block not dreaming of watching a match in the Kenilworth end and vice-versa, it doesn't mean that there shouldn't be the option of both for fans and the same goes with forums.
I think most can agree that this new forum taking the Outlaws name and "branding" (for want of a better word) is totally going about things the wrong way and doesn't do them any favours (neither does going from 1998 message board software to 2003 forum software).
However I don't see why there needs to be competition between the two style of forums, as neither is there to grow a community to profit from and ultimately engagement about LTFC only benefits the club in the long run.
So I would recommend that the new forum be renamed to something which isn't a rip-off of Outlaws and then each forum should signpost to each other so fans know which forum suits them best between a more wild-west/old school approach with the original Outlaws or a more focussed registration forum.
Both styles of forums can co-exist quite easily and both will eventually have their own distinct communities, which will not be at the detriment of either forum.
