We always reckoned that traps 1,4 and 6 produced the most winners. My own dog was a slow trapper, so if she got 6 she always stood a better chance as she'd miss all the bumping on the first bend. It was quite something to watch her get going and move up the field along the long back curve. In 11 of the 12 races she won at Henlow, it was by a head or short head. In the other one she was trailing in 3rd on the final sharp bend, but one of the pair in front was a youngster who didn't know the track, and collided with the favourite - leaving the rail clear for my dog to come through and win by 2 lengths.
