- Re: Sadly it’s the club at fault despite the sensationalist headlines
but the club have spun it to deflect from the fact they’ve done a bit of a shit job on this occasion.
Had the finance people at the club done things correctly, there’d now be no need for statements, appearing on talksport to say everything’s fine etc etc. Without doubt GS will be handing out bollockings all round.
And to answer NAGs question - the EFL deliberately determined its members shouldn’t require the 3 month extension allowed by law due to COVID. Many, if not the majority, of companies have decided likewise.
You have to consider the EFL are responding here to numerous late filing issues at clubs like Brum, Derby, Sheff Weds etc. For the first time ever I’m actually with the EFL on this one as I think a) it’s the right thing to do and b) I don’t want our club categorised with those who don’t comply with the financial rules even if we don’t have anything to hide, as I’m sure we do not.
This is purely a case of captain cock-up paying a visit to LTFC Finance Dept. That’s all I’m saying. No conspiracy. No financial Armageddon. Pure oversight. Beginning and end of story.
