I seem to recall that being a pupil at Beach Road, when it was 11+ time we had to sit the exam at the Cenny. Not sure why. But, ironically, having passed the exam went on to Waterloo Grammar School.
So, my only visit to the Cenny. But, knew plenty of lads who did go there.

My younger brother went to Waterloo Grammar School, and my older cousin Eric Forster (1957/58)?

I never sat the 11+, I had tonsillitis on the day of the test.

Beach Road School had an excellent record of 11+ passes.

I dint take the test didnt want to leave EM school and have to travel to crosby,who have thought years latter i would have lived in hong kong for 2 years

Item 4 was the main hall, also during the war our school dining room, it was really good tucker,
Item 5 woodwork with Mr Mathew’s who never hesitated to throwing bits of wood at you,
Item 6 was science with Mrs Sherd ( think it’s misspelt, the head’s wife she was very good. Another good post Ronnie cheers
