who made all the money after the war for all the metal collected,are gate went and the metal railings that were on a low brick wall all taken,

No one profited from it; the metal found suitable was used for armaments.

Tonnes of metal were dumped at sea (WWII) because they were not suitable for war use.

The collection of metal was a great moral booster, and so it was kept secret about the sea dumpings.

sHould have employed some one who knew what could be used,some unfit to be called up,

We had to go without, gate till dad came home in 1947,i would have been 8 then and my brother just 4 year old didnt have a back garden so if my brother was in the front garden myself or my mother had to be out with him,lived next to the bus stop
I would be told to wait with a six pence and aske the conducter for change pennies for the gas Metter
