A few years ago when I was based in Australia I was fortunately enough to be able to take a few photos of items that were very close to Ronnies heart and very much linked to Litherland. I got a great joy in beinging able to do that for Ronnie and I think it was a great way to have a long lasting friendship. I don't wish to be respectful but I have noticed many of the posts these days really have nothing to do with Litherland. Although I understand the posters point of view and past historical memories I would like to offer a different perpective. I know as a kid I knew every gigger , every gate to a school , every door to a pub but obviously things have changed. So let me update you on Ronnie@s fantastic pictures of Litherland by takinf photos of any place you won't to see now. Pick an exact spot and I'll take a photo of it is NOW. If you have an old photo as a comparrison that would be great. But even if you want me to take a photo of a specific brick ( and I had favourites in my time) just tell me and I will get it for you. I hope I get your good feed back , as this is what this site is really about. Cheers! Obie

the post box on sonning ave near the sweet shop,my mother used it from 1962 till 1975 when she moved to oldham to be ner my brother,
when home i use it to send letter to Berlin

Do you think only the people who still live litherland should post,I can only think of 5 peoplewho wear born there and have moved to other parts of the country,Allan and Barbara are the only 2 who havent left,So lived all there lives

I have said many time i was born at91 sefton rd 1938,but till i came on the site never heard an entree called a jigger,we had a entree behind are house on Sefton road,My dad came from crosby,he did like the liverpool accent,till i had been away for 2 year,army hong kong,didnt think litherland people had a scose accent

Thanks for that Obie. Well appreciated. I have a visit back to the Pool occasionally and have a good reminisce. Went past my house on Lowden Avenue some time ago and it had been painted pink. Horrified. It has been changed since.

Walk down lowden ave for year on my way to littlewood mail order from 1954 till 1962 before the new house were built,moved from sefton road to 19 sonning ave about1959

Litherland has changed so much over the years,the house i was brought up in and parr street gone,the house my granprents where i was born 91 sefton rd no linger there,best not to go back
