Anthony Edens' Visit To Linacre Mission 1939

The visit of Anthony Eden to the Linacre Mission in February 1939 was a significant local event, especially given the high political tension of the time.

Standing behind the man in the grey suit is John W. Anderson. Litherland Chairman John W. Anderson.

I have a photo of the meeting taken in the packed out main hall.

Frightening to think what happened 7 months later.
It brought many changes to Liverpool and Litherland as well.

I was born november 1938 so first 7 year of my life was wartime dad posted to north Africa,My friend dads didnt have to go as they all worked on liverpool docks,i was very shy.kissed him when he came home,thought that should have been enough,
