Holy Sepulchre School c1915

An entry in a 1854 directory for Lancashire gives the following:-

Litherland: Clinton A. School Mistress (Catholic)

In 1915 Fr. James Lowry was Rector for Ford and the school priest.

The School Names: St. Josephs, Holy Sepulchre & English Martyrs.

Fr. Joseph I. Dickinson became the RC Rector of Ford in 1929.

He shouted at when i told him my name,said i had to have a saints ,Year later spoke to a relations who had 4 sons, there is no such rule, Father Dickinson

My Mums brothers and sister went that school,Mum was born 1912,sister Sheila 1914 brother Norman 1916, when I started school January 1944 the country was at war,

My mum remembered a solder waiting outside the school for one of the teachers,Wonder who it was,did they gey married and move to wales,
