Eatting Rabbit

It must have been during the war, i know my gran would only buy rabbit if it had it head and fur on,In case people were selling Cats,So i must have ate rabbit,Why do we feel different Baby lamb or a rabbit,

My Mum still bought rabbit from the butchers for my older brother - like you he ate it during the war.

I did shoot rabbits in the past with a 22 air rifle, and caught them in snares, I was shown how to make and set a snare by a guy I worked with.

We worked on a big hotel renovation surrounded by farm land. The place was overrun with rabbits, we set the snares along the fences enclosing the hotel land.

When I was in Leeds in th3 1970s you could buy a whole rabbit at the butchers, which I did. Very tasty tbh.

I think Inspector Watson 71 sefton road,kept rabbits for there meat,Gave my brother and i one big white rabbit, a male we tried to keep the apart,but blamed him when one female had young the there were killed,,so off he went to a good home,but it turned out one of the female was a boy, but the female only had one little black and white young,
PS my dad kept Hens if one became are dinner alway told it was one of the neighbor hens,

I could never kill an animal, Mac said you would if you were hunger,When I met him he was on leave from the army,helping out at family friend farm,killing chicken and turkey for the market,but when I had to have the vet come to the house after our dog had a stroke,final injection he wouldnt stay,i cried after it was done,

A real county women welch but born just over the border,Her younger brother died helping with the harvest,fell asleep after drink cedar sun stroke and died,She would give me one shilling a week for taking her fresh bread,(bought from Bob Pickering) 6 night a week,She made pack of sandwiches for her 2 sons,

We had pet rabbits had a hutch put spend most of the time running about the large back yard,dont forget to lock the door,
