Would we still love it if we went back,My house went years ago with Parr street,Taylor house and ground,bought by the council,Inspector house still in the family,he must have sold the long field behind the house,rememeber the cobbled road in the street the street light,sure i Have a memory of a man coming to light the street light,

These were damaged earlier this year when a large lorry knocked the top of one of the gates and the repair was a botched job and Ed got ontro to council to complain as did other Litherland people. I don't know if the repair has been rectified I must ask Ed.
Can't find the photos on the Litherland History site.

I would Norma! In fact, I was pondering going back. Not to the lodge as not for sale but, a house nearby is!

Good luck Jean hope you get the house,I have maybe 2 relations living in Litherland,But there father was in the british navy Mac was army so never got to meet them,never in liverppol at the same time,heard one late cousin daughter live in Sonning ave,

My aunt had a house on Sefton rd,just around the corner from School lane,She died suddenly and her husband move to Canada,people who bought the house upset my Mum by complaining there was wood worm in the house,sure it gone by nowPS it was next door but one to the labour club

That were the posh people lived,or so we thought as kids,invited to a party in the house we thought was a castle,it was a boys party,but my friend and me had are tea with the mother of the house, in a different room,

It was very desirable place to live when first built, advertised as clean air, views of the Welsh hills, near to Seaforth Station etc.

The place was stunk out with the smell from the bone yard making fertilser in Field Lane

many petitions by the residents and summons were against the owners of the works.

They all walked about Litherland Park with pegs on their snouts

It was a tannery i didnt like,as kid we would ride through the tannery trying not to breath in,St Fagan country park ,walking distance from were i live,has a tannery,

The tannery certainly did stink, Norma.

My Mum worked there part-time, I sometimes picked her up in my car (Mini) I kept the car windows closed when parked outside where the old Hen & Chickens pub was - It became the tannery lab.

As a child aways thought of Hatton Hill road as the posh part of litherland ,then to be posh you had to have an inside toilet and a bathroom,Plus a great backgarden,were the house backed onto a house in litherland park,that house had a big Pear tree,if we were lucky the Pear hung over into grans garden,My Grandfather Dickinson was in the middle of buying a house in the Park when he died,I though he made all his money for horse racing,but it was from Stocks and share tips he got from people,he died 9 months before i was born,
