Norma that era is fine as this is still 62 years ago, we are all getting older. You lived in an area that has mostly changed so much so any little tales are good . Ed was so pleased with the little memories you had. I'm still in Litherland but was born the other side of the canal and only moved to thePosh part in 1971 but thats 54 years ago. Hope you will agree to talk to Ed, He will ask questions so that will beeasier than you trying to think what to say.

never thought it was the posh area,as kids we would go and collect saw dust for the rabbit hutch, it seemed quite a hill walking up to the lift bridge,and I always thought how lucky we were to live church road side,less traffic,and we had the Tegga ,use to walk over to Crosby,dont know what it like now,

I may have felt a bit posh as we had a landlady till the council bought are houses and Parr st,Posh because it was not a council house,How can you feel posh with only toilet in the back yard,Norwood ave wasa bit posh then found out most people there rented the homes,anyone know who owned them,in the 1950 and 1960,

Thanks for sending your phone number to Ed, he will enjoy having a chat with you. He has just put the conversation he had in my house with Doreen onto the website. He used a recorder and just chatted to her. I don't remember half of the things that she said but that is the best way to do it so as we don't forget.

Didn't realise that over the canal was the posh part!!
Born 1945 and lived on Lowden Avenue but what I do remember are the fields to the front of the house, out the back were old allotments used during the war and at the bottom of the road were fields belonging to Ingrams farm.
Although we were part of Liverpool, I think at that time it was run by West Lancashire Council and we were really on the outside edge of Liverpool. The area opposite Ford Cemetery.
And look how it has changed. Houses almost to Sefton Village.
