When you first told us about your island i imaged a lovely peacfull quiet place, it look quite busy,do you like it better in the winter months when holiday makers stop coming

I like all the seasons here, Norma - The place is very busy about 6 months of the year with tourists from all over the world - Good for the local economy and employment.

It was the same here when Charles was made Prince of wales,,my son was only 4 year of age ,but at St fagans grounds he wasnt happy to overhear people saying how better things were in the USA,Think it was mostley the Roses

I was thinking of the year we stayed in Cardigan bay,spent money in local shops but one shop the person serving called across something in welch,make you feel they are talking about you,so i said a feww words in welch to my son,she looked quite surprised,Stopped using the shop,also we had been told if paying with a 10 pound note,be carefull they will try and say it was only a 5 pound note,so say Sorry i only have a tenner,

Only once did we use the ferry between england and wales, before the bridges were build,1968 living in Cardiff relations on a visit wanted to go across the on the bridge,

Definitely an overseas trip for you Ronnie. Two ferries to visit the Isle of Man from your home.
I always said that my RAF posting to Benbecular was overseas because it was two ferries. No bridge then to Skye!!
Hope you enjoyed the trip. Nice place the Manx Isle. Memories of holidays there as a kid.

John! I'm just back from lovely Benbecula!
First saw the name on and airport departure board, many years ago. Hadn't a clue where it was! Imagined a tropical island with swaying palms!
Once home, got the atlas out! Rather closer to home than I'd imagined. Always fancied visiting, finally did!

Far from tropical Jean but nice beaches. Most probably didn't go properly dark at night when you were there. Hope you enjoyed your holiday and the weather was good to you.

I loved the islands John.i enjoyed the trip very much. Sadly, the weather wasn't good. Mist and rain most of the time. So much so, both flights from Glasgow were cancelled so we didn't get to see the planes land on the beach at Barra.

And we are just back from Anglesey. Does that count for going abroad ? Going over the Menai bridge. The weather was glorious.

Last time we were on Anglesey, Mac went to a swim in the sea,my son called out My dad is the best swimmer on the whole beach,
Not hard he was the only one,
