Garden Snails

I put down slug pellets yesterday, I’ve just collected a bucket full of them !

some year ago buying slug pellets the youg girl,in the shop thought I was being kind and feeding the slugs and snails,

Are you having them for tea or going to fed them with bran,till they have cleaned out there stomach,when I was working one of my ladies told me when she was a child her Father brought snails home,ready to cook,but one escaped ,old house very high ceilings,spent day trying get it dowm,PS you couldnt eat them if they had been eating slug pelts,Was it Barbara who took the slugs and snailmto the far side of the canal rather than killing them,I throw them out and hope the local crows eat them,

You are right it would be Barbara that took the snails over the canal ingto the rimrose vally park. I told her snails always come back to the same garden!

hope they didnt find the bridge,but it a different one now, they would have to climb the ladder,many year ago my Mum and aunty Nell would walk across the crosby to a bread shop,PS as a child walking to the church I would see large snails on the plants,thought I would like some in the garden,be carefull what you wish for,I have plenty here,eatting my plants,

They are all dead, Norma - Gone in the bin, they would kill the birds if they ate them.

Read an interesting article today about the decline of Blackbirds in the UK because of type of mosquito.

To help it says to put out fresh water daily and to clean bird tables/feeders on a regular basis.

Ronnie when I was working opened the gate to the first house to find dead snails all over the path,the ladies son had been there the day before,used product that you watered on Plants and it killed the snail when the ate the plant,dont know if eating those snails whould harm the birds,I have a hedge hog that come into my garden late at night,so dont use pellets,Do use a few in the greenhouse,
