I try to be lazy every day! In sharp contrast to my Mum. It was hard keeping house back then. Everything had its set day. Washing, blacking the grate, scrubbing the yard and the front step, polishing the brasses. But, never on a Sunday! After all there was the Sunday dinner and pudding to cook!
Jean I remember how happy my Mum was when Dad took out the old fire,and replaced it with a almost new one,the old one had a oven,and always a kettle of hot water,Now slow long cooking is in fashion,but hard work keeping the grate polished
