It was a Beautiful summer we kids of Sefton rd and Parr street,Cooked are meals on the Tegga field,my brother and I had a metal stove dad carried around for us,One boy cooked his breakfast egg in the water he made his cup of tea with,after breakfast time spent collecting wood for the fire,Policeman came around once when he saw smoke,just told use to be carefull,We children were so lucky having the field,No computer games, mobile phones,but we were happy,

I feel sure we all felt the same, It was are space,keep strangers out unless invited,Are we born with that feeling,At the same time I never went down Norwood ave,people from Norwood had a gate in there back garden leading to Parr street

We have been the lucky ones Norma. My childhood was wonderful. As you say, no technology required. Just space and imagination.

Jean did you play Jacks,thinks that what it was called,We played with small flat stones,You had to throw one stone up and then pick up one of the remaining stones,PS see now its played with bouncy ball,We were too poor to have a ball,

I'd forgotten about playing Jacks Norma! Not with stones though. I was trying to describe what we played it with but found a pic!!!

I have a packet od those year,bought in Cardiff year ago,best played on the carpet,as my nail are quite long,I said to one lady I looked after I must be healthy my nails are long and strong,she said your nail grow even after you die,
