Tragic Death Of Three Young Lads In Litherland 1905

Unimaginable the grief the two families suffered, and also witnessed by the 5 year old O'Donaghue boy, traumatising for him

If you read the Murphy headstone (Ford), they lost another child Sidney aged 2 in 1901

Edward Paddock (Ted) is buried in Anfield cemetery

Tomorrow I will post the Inquest/Funeral details, and the present day location of the 'Pit', which is shown on early 1843/5 maps.

I was able to locate the 'Pit' using map overlays and georeferencing.

The 1843 Tithe:
5 Acres, Moss and Pit
Leased from the Earl of Sefton by Peter Fleetwood
Growing potatoes & turnips on the 5 acres
He also grew wheat
He farmed 14 acres in total, paying £2.15s.4d Tithes to the Rector of Sefton.

That the church where we got married,what I remember mostly is that the Priest forgot he had a wedding,We were all at the church a lady seem he chatting to someone in sonning ave,And aked havent you got a wedding today,When he arrived he said you will be able to tell people the priest was late,Most time it the bride,

dont know if are parent knew as children we played along the canal,went fishing for tiny little fish,thank goodness none fell in,must have been very careful or just lucky,That was Ford,My mother in law told me her neighbor who told fortunes had told her one of her son would drowned,But many years latter a neighbour of mother in laws about 1970 her husband both died on a fishing trip I was living in Cardiff then,

I have never leant to swim,when we were living in Hong Kong,2 planes crashed into the sea,(not at the same time) many people died,when we were due to fly home our son was 20 months old,I told Mac if it happened to the plane we were on to save Steven and leave me,We lived high up overlooking the bayfor days could see the back of the plane sticking out of the water,
