The new church cost £8000 to build in 1937 - I recall Arthur saying a bought a 'brick' in the fundraising for the new church.

The organ from the old chapel was renovated and installed in the new church.

Are church didnt have a afternoon children service in the school holidays, Methodist did,we kid went for a walk to sefton church,thought it would be quicker to walk along the cannel,but we were going the wrong way,towards Leeds not litherland,mum kept are Sunday dinner had it for tea,one friend got into trouble her family were Methodist

When i worked in the naafi based in Holton a group of men came who were in the TA only joined for the money,and as one said to get away from there wife for a couple of week,God help the country if war had broken out,and they had to do any more than play solders,
